Our Job is to Know Things About You

Our Mission

The National Security Powers Act of 2049 established a clear mandate for the Department of National Security to ensure the safety of all legal residents and businesses from foreign and domestic enemies of the United States.  We have offices and agents stationed globally.

Who we are

The Department of National Security combines the former Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, all seventeen members of the U.S Intelligence Community, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and all branches of the military.  Due to the urgent need to find and prosecute the terrorists responsible for “The Day”, each agency immediately appointed a select team of well-prepared staff who managed to swiftly and efficiently implement the consolidation process.

A History of “The Day

On October 20th, 2049, multiple bombs simultaneously exploded in several major cities across the United States. Hundreds of thousands were killed. On 9/11 in 2001, the absence of coordination between intelligence and law enforcement agencies allowed terrorists to slip through the gaps. But this one happened despite the best efforts of the Department of Homeland Security and National Security Agency’s communications monitoring programs.

The DNS’s first mission successfully located and arrested the terrorists responsible for “The Day.” DNS investigators found thousands of simple encoded electronic messages planning the attacks. An anonymous tip led to the confrontation with the terrorists who had been smuggled in the US  disguised as Middle East refugees. The  Muslim charity responsible for this was shut down and its trustees detained  for questioning at Guantanamo Base. The DNS conducted a simultaneous multi-state mass arrest, but most suspects and conspirators violently resisted valid warrants, resulting in many fatalities of these suspects and cohabitants. The few survivors are still awaiting trial.
